MAXIM'S FULLY INTEGRATED SOT23 LDO AND MICROPROCESSOR RESET CIRCUITS DELIVER 300mA
Note to Editor: The MAX6469-MAX6476 integrate a 300mA LDO with a reset timing circuit in a single SOT23 package. These devices are available with factory-fixed output voltages from 1.5V to 3.3V in 100mV increments or can easily be adjusted with an external resistor-divider to voltages from 1.2V to 5.5V. Other features include a manual reset input, a shutdown input, or a feedback pin for remote current sensing or regulator control.

(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6469-MAX6476 low-dropout, integrated linear regulator and microprocessor reset circuits in a SOT23 package. These products are available with preset outputs from 1.5V to 3.3V in 100mV increments that can deliver up to 300mA of output current.
Each µP supervisor is offered with reset threshold options set for 5% or 10% below the regulator output. Whenever the regulated output voltage falls below the reset threshold or the manual reset is asserted, the reset output asserts and remains asserted for at least the minimum reset timeout (2.5ms, 20ms, 150ms, or 1200ms min) after the regulated output voltage exceeds the reset thresholds. All versions are offered with either an active-low, push-pull or an active-low, open-drain reset output.
The MAX6469-MAX6472 also have an adjustable feature that allows the output voltage to be adjusted from 1.2V to 5.5V with external resistors.
The MAX6471-MAX6474 have a manual reset input, and the MAX6475*/MAX6476 have a remote feedback sense option to function as a regulator controller. Other features include a shutdown mode (MAX6469/MX6470/MAX6473-MAX6476) that reduces current consumption to under 1µA, a thermal shutdown feature that turns off the internal PMOS switch when the junction temperature exceeds the specified maximum condition, and reverse leakage-current protection that prevents battery-cell damage.
The combination of small size (SOT23), low power (82µA), reverse-current protection, and shutdown makes these devices ideal for portable, battery-operated, applications. All devices are available in a small SOT23 or QFN package. Prices start at $1.50 (2500 or 10,000-up minimum, FOB USA).
