2.7V, RAIL-TO-RAIL INSTRUMENTATION AMPLIFIERS ACHIEVE 115dB CMRR
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 11, 1999—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4194MAX4197 family of micropower instrumentation amplifiers. These Rail-to-Rail® instrumentation amplifiers use a three-op-amp topology that combines precision specifications and operation from a single +2.7V to +7.5V supply. The supply current is just 93µA in normal operation and 8µA in shutdown mode with a 500ms enable time and 85µs 0.1% settling time (unity gain). These devices preserve battery life in low-voltage battery-powered systems by pulsing the amplifier on/off at low duty cycle. In addition to their low power consumption, these devices feature excellent DC common-mode rejection (CMR) from 95dB to 115dB, depending on gain.
The MAX4194 is unity-gain stable and can be configured for gains up to +1000V/V. At the highest gain, CMR is 115dB. The MAX4195/MAX4196/
MAX4197 are internally configured for gains of unity, +10V/V, and +100V/V, respectively. The MAX4195 exhibits 95dB CMR and achieves a 220kHz bandwidth. The MAX4196/MAX4197 exhibit 115dB CMR and achieve bandwidths of 34kHz and 3.2kHz, respectively. These amplifiers feature a rail-to-rail output that can drive a 5k ohm load to 100mV from each rail.
The MAX4194MAX4197 are offered in eight-pin SO packages. Prices start from $1.60 (1000-up, FOB USA).
