DUAL/TRIPLE-VOLTAGE µP SUPERVISORY CIRCUITS MONITOR VOLTAGES DOWN TO 0.62V IN A SOT23 PACKAGE

 
 

Note to Editor: The MAX6715–MAX6727 are dual- and triple-voltage microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits designed to monitor voltages down to 0.62V. The MAX6715–MAX6727 features include a manual reset input, a watchdog timer, and/or an additional reset output. These devices are available in space-saving SOT23 packages and minimize external components.
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 6, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6715–MAX6727 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. These dual/triple-voltage microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits offer thresholds designed to monitor multiple system voltages down to 0.62V with no external components required. Product options include a manual reset input, a watchdog timer, and/or an additional reset output. These devices are offered with voltage thresholds from 0.62V to 5V and with six minimum reset timeout period options from 1.1ms to 1120ms.

When any of the monitored voltages falls below its threshold, manual reset is asserted or the watchdog times out. After the monitored voltage rises above its threshold a reset signal asserts and remains asserted for the reset timeout period, then manual reset is deasserted and the watchdog timer is cleared. An initial startup feature allows the watchdog timeout period to be extended to 35.8s to allow for system initialization after a reset event has occurred. Normal watchdog operation (1.12s) resumes after the 35.8s startup delay. These devices are available in tiny 5-pin, 6-pin, and 8-pin SOT23 packages. Prices start at $1.38 for the MAX6715/MAX6716/ MAX6719–MAX6724, $1.16 for the MAX6717/MAX6718, and $1.50 for the MAX6725–MAX6727 (2500 or 10,000-up, FOB USA).
