LOW-VOLTAGE, LOW-POWER, SC70 RESET ICs PERFECT FOR PORTABLE EQUIPMENT
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 22, 2000-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6381MAX6390 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor supply rails of +1.8V to +5V in µP and digital systems, these tiny SC70 devices consume only 3µA, making them perfect for portable applications.
Whenever a monitored voltage falls below the reset threshold, the reset output asserts and remains asserted for a minimum reset timeout period after VCC rises above the reset threshold. Reset thresholds are available from +1.58V to +4.63V, in approximately 100mV increments. Seven reset timeout periods are available: 1ms, 20ms, 140ms, 280ms, 560ms, 1120ms, and 1200ms. The 1200ms reset timeout version is compatible with the requirements of the new Motorola Dragonball Processor (MC68VZ328).
These devices are available with three reset options: an active-low, push-pull output (MAX6381/MAX6384/MAX6387), an active-high, push-pull output (MAX6382/MAX6385/MAX6388), and an active-low, open-drain output (MAX6383/MAX6386/MAX6389/MAX6390). Additional features include a manual reset input (MAX6384/MAX6385/MAX6386/MAX6390) or an auxiliary reset input
(MAX6387/MAX6388/MAX6389) that allows a second voltage to be monitored down to +1.27V. The MAX6390 includes a unique timing combination of a 1.12s VCC (or 1.2s) reset timeout and a 140ms (or 150ms) manual reset timeout.
These devices are available in 3-pin (MAX6381/MAX6382/MAX6383) or 4-pin (MAX6384MAX6390) SC70 packages. Prices start at $0.96 (2500 or 10,000 minimum, FOB USA).
